Adult Learn to Row

Lake County Rowing Association offers Learn to Row sessions as an introduction to rowing taught by LCRA coaches. Sessions are scheduled several times throughout the year and are held both on a land rowing machine and outside on Lake Minneola. New rowers are taught safety, parts of the boat, stroke sequence, rowing terms, and ergometer techniques. Upon completion of the Learn to Row session rowers will have a solid foundation to continue fine tuning their stroke during LCRA’s regularly coached practices.

Social Distancing

Due to recent social distancing guidelines, normal Learn To Row sessions will be morphed into Intro to Sculling, which will serve as an introduction for those who are new to both sculling and rowing in general. If you have never rowed previously, or have most recently participated in one of our introductory programs (Adult Learn to Row), this is the class for you! In this class, you will learn the basics of the rowing stroke, as well as how to navigate the lake, in safe, stable one-person shells (singles).

Due to equipment limitations based on social distancing, the July Adult Learn To Row / Intro To Sculling session will be limited to 10 people.

Cost is $119, which covers 6 sessions with a spare makeup session. The cost also includes LCRA Adult Coached Session membership through the balance of July 2020.
